DHARTI.. spare this from criticism...

A week  after  watching one of rarest regional films in the country that crushed the bussiness of its co-released hindi film ,  I read many reviews  lecturing  the same  typical critics tone of this could hve been bettr, that should hve been this etc etc…Since I once had an enthusiasm to criticise films on this very blog and now I don’t , I strongly  feel some exceptions should be made.. Atleast   1  out of 100 films  should be spared from criticism..and Dharti is that one film..
Punjabi  film industry has lost crucial 25 years of its film making .We have drained tonnes of punjabi talent to bombay. They all try to gain healthy publicity in punjab by just speaking punjabi  in interviews ,  and dance to sensless so termed punjabi bhangra nos .They would also desire to shoot their films in punjab, but they wouldn’t  desire to  help the drowning punjabi industry..
I f some artists have taken this initiative to curb the menance, why cant we just celeberate punjabi films getting released in best of the screens worldwide..i remember way back in 2006 people preferred watching Dil apna punjabi  over Kabhi alvida naa kehnaa and Dharti in 2011 over DMD..People gathering in such nos  for a punjabi film is a rare achievment. It took 15 years since acclaimed cinematographer Manmohan singh from bollywood( cameraman of all yash chopra films) initiated to make some punjabi films..He even opted out of working in veer zara just to make a punjabi film not even half the budget of VZ..Though all his films have been monotnous but he did bring  back the trend of films in punjab..
Flaws in Dharti are  not few but many….with  some hindi films such as udaan and gangster ( both made under 3 crore) that are amongst the best technical films of the decade Dharti with a 5.5 cre stands no where .The makers should have  avoided the expense of hiring a harley davison and audi cars and  put in mre to improve the camera wrk and make it look like a descent film..Also roadies shall stop idolising rannvijay  since he performed idiotically..believe, there are many other things in DHARTI that make no sense ..But  criticism on  such small attributes  should have made sense fr a hindi film because they have their history of thousands of films, hundreds of crores of budget, the best artists , and we the punjabi industry don’t ..Moreover DHARTI is an entertaing watch with some stunning dialogues and superb performances by jimmy shergill  and rahul dev..Also the film has a song SARKARAAN though in the end, but surely one of the best lyrics and with huge appeal..
Allegations have also been raised against Dharti of ripping rajneeti…ofcourse not…rajneeti’s influence can be felt, but copying and ripping are  very strong terms..rajneeti was itself a story with partial concepts of THE GODFATEHR and epic MAHABHARTA slapped together..But even that was done intellectually and not shamelesly..so does Dharti, it tells a different story and has a charm to it..
Flaws in punjabi films must be spared since this is a premature state..let us give punjabi films some more redemption from criticism. For now regular production   of punjabi films is all what we need.We need people to watch more and more punjabi films..We don't need people to give expertise ratings wether these films should be watched or not..i thnk criticism can wait, atleast till we too make big films, release them in multiple languages and have our own film city some day..
I strongly believe heavy budgeted bollywood films have potrailed a depressing  image of punjab and its culture..and to check that, we need quality punjabi cinema…but for that we need punjabi films being made regularly…So guys, be generous and watch Dharti..Though not a perfect film, but more entertaining than many hindi films. Have great time..:-)

Kaagaz Ke Phool...Unaccepted yet adoring.!!

Kaagaz Ke Phool- Unaccepted yet adoring
A lot of films fail commercially, and garner much praise and sometimes a cult status, long time after.  Kaagaz Ke Phool (1957) endured a lot of criticism for different reasons, and enjoys a cult status presently. I saw the film, and   tried to learn as much as I could about this declared masterpiece worldwide. So much love for the film has entangled me in perplexes. I would acknowledge acclaim bestowed at the film to a certain extent.
Crazy though, but I saw the film twice to elicit if I missed out anything. All I could realize was it remains technically the best film made in India. The awesomeness of camerawork in a scene where sun breaks through a stream of light entering tangentially on Guru Dutt sitting on a chair, musters an eye warming effect .Such an attempt stayed a hard puzzle for people until the cameraman for the film V.K MURTHY revealed he produced this effect with exposing light on pieces of mirrors. And guess what, today cinematographers say they couldn’t attempt this without cameras equipped with modern features. Also KAAGAZ KE PHOOL was the first Indian film made with cinemascope technology (technology that projects films on wide and large screens). But still, such attributes are not enough to label a film as classic. Why didn’t I like the film that much? Did it go over my head? I do enjoy serious old films. Pyasaa (by Guru Dutt himself) is a worthy classical display of solitude.
Kaagaz ke phool was a controversial film. It is believed viewers threw stones at the screen because the 50’s audience of India was amateurish to accept such audacious subjects. Also, the then president DrRajendra Prasad walked out of the premier after as he felt embarrassed. I am  scared to debate on the film against the ones deeply in love with it. Surely, the film is amongst the most influential works in India.
However, the freedom of expression still remains an unanswered quest decades after the film.  Unfortunately, our liking towards repeated stereotypical entertainment is never ending. Films like Kaagaz Ke Phool that absorb tremendous potential to expose loopholes in our customs are left deprived of their due accolades and have to wait for years, for the future generation to imbibe the philosophy and then label such films  as ‘cult’.

Cinema is predictable, but its influence is unpredictable. Whatsoever it was, I might have found Kaagaz ke phool 'boring' but I do admire the makers who poured in their heart, for the brave effort to challenge the ethics of Indian society then and introduce latest technology to India something present day film makers are not eligible of, for Guru Dutt who was an amazing film maker because his films showed how we think and not how we should think, the only definition for cinema I understand.

A Day Back To School....

On the bench in 21 park i found a wallet..Surely belonged to a student as it had a 100 rupees note that suffered severe folds and lack of outside atmosphere..Following some registeration slips i identify the owner a studnt of a school adjoining the park. ..i decided to deposit it to the school..
The gateman guided me to the principal's room..
oh wow!! after so many years i was entering a school..years since i saw uniforms all around..On the way to the principal's office i was reminded mre of my own school..In the first corridor, few DRESS DEFAULTERS were made to stand outside their classes ..Standing outside the class was always fun and never punishment fr me..and  the same was fr the students here.nothing had changed..Schools even today have their own boring  routine..teachers thrashing students, cleaning of   floors after evry 5 mins,.,etc.
i entered the office and found a furious face threatning someone on phone of not allowing his ward to appear in exams..same old principal's punch//"aap kal hi aake mjhse miliye apne bache k sath else i wont allow him to sit in exams.".nothing had changed..our's was no less..
i gave her the wallet and she made a call to SHUBAM CLASS 11 COMMERCE..
minutes later two slim medium height boys reported..both were shubams..before anythng else could proceed she points  one of them
"ye sar pe kya h? chidiya ka ghonsla h?hmm..you think you are a hero or what? just get lost you morons..comb your hair and then enter my office..''
they renter 5 min later with a champoo side hairline.lol..
PRINCI--dono apna wallet nikalo..
{and yes throughout the process i was in pride of doing such a responsible deed}
one of 'em--ma'am m to lekar nahi ata
PRINCI--and you  ghosla hair boy?
STUDENT--maam neither do i..
PRINCI--then to whom this one belongs?
BOTH IN CHORUS(VOICE SHIVERING)--ma'm there is another shubham..he hasnt come today
PRINCI--hmm!did he come yesterday?
STUDENT1--no ma'am..
STUDENT2 yes ma'am
pata nahi..
the matter was.
the required shubam was in deadly danger..and all because of me
the guy was on a bunk and was doing somethng in the park the day before.
PRINCI--let the bastard come tomorrow..
(now to me)thank you for your help beta..so nice of you anybody else would have preferred  purchasing two more cigg packets from this money..
now this was the time for me to be heroic..
ma'am i have somethng to say
many times i have seen students of your school smoking ,consuming drugs in the adjoining park..
arnt u doing smething?
PRINCI--beta see..what can i do?
i have written to the police so many times but they dont support..
my respponsibility begins when the students enter the gate..outside what they do i can't hold of it..
parents are becoming careless..its their duty.."
 really nothing has changed..
that shubam might be cursing me by now..:P

My guilt confession...Film downloads..

After warning my fellow mates on why they should avoid using pirated stuff specifically films,am myself  perplexed  on why am I suppose to point them..
Why do I ask them to avoid and not stop doing so? Do I myself escape my believes for some exceptions? The ans is yes..and this is my guilt confession..
Exceptions, when a portugese Brazilian cult classic "cidade de deus”( CITY OF GOD) is enlisted amongst the 100 best films ever made, not released in india neither is the ORIGINAL DVD available , the only alternative am left is to commit a sin of approaching this internet offering movies worldwide free…I download it and pray I better hate it. Surprisingly,I like it so much that it is the best film of my all time fav genre crime ..subsequently, I realise I should better hold on my wierd believes else I would be deprived of such great experiences..
Somehow am not that guilty, Being a student I had my limitations. But my craze for films like avatar and inception triggered me to the extent of saving money out of cutting all my other expenses and purchase original dvd’s of both..obviously, I shouldn’t have expected admiration for such great job..Moreover I am reffered as jack ass since then..But do tell me, how thrilling far is it to watch an avatar on less than a 20 inch screen at your systems. And if for a reason you missed a film at the cinemas, then why is it painful to hire an original dvd on rent and watch..ofcourse,you arnt a jackass like me purchasing originals..But hiring on rent isn’t disgraceful..atleast it could be done for films that are available..
Am known to have answers to everything..TO this I feel I should better not flount at others of what they should not do.. atleast till am known a jackass.. moreover it won’t be easy to justify you all people my loyality towards my passion..i think,I make the best to watch as much films I can on original stuff..If finance is an issue then I am sensible enough to wait for the DVD’S out months later of theatrical release..Renting does good for me..If I am trapped in a “CITY OF GOD” situation I would download it from the craziest database in the world..
I would do so till I become capable of flying to brazil and get an original piece of the city of god..
This heading holds great concern since I wish to have a private room someday equipped with home theatre and a library at one corner displaying the collection of my all time favourites; The godfather, the dark knight,City of god,The raging bull, Black Friday, shawshank redemption,Pulp fiction, pyasaa, dil chahta hai, hera pheri and…………….:-) 

Film Award ceremonies...from disgrace to reverence..

It might be  crazy of me for what am writing today... am just expressing my pleasure towards the recently held star screen awards honouring bollywood films of 2010..surprised!! UDAAN best film..:-)J
its high time since i stopped watching award functions for the manipulative judgments they gave...hritik being awarded best actor for his tainted performance in krish missing out sanjay dutt for  munnabhai.and the subsequent year all award ceremonies missed out taare zameen par in important nominations.
many a times stars claiming and criticisng  the odious practise of fake judgments at award functions  were noticed cheering at the ceremonies performing and even giving speech of gratitude for the ESTEEMED HONOUR.Act of plagurising is nothng new in bollywood..it origins way back from our golden films..how many of us would agree really that cult indian film SHOLAY was lifted from a japanese film the seven samurai..if you do, then believe me there are many, and to name a few  for instances would be partial..
My interest for star screen awards grew when neeraj pandey ( director a wednesday) won best director and best story teller.
surprisingly, Salman khan is the best actor( for the first time in his career).. i thought it should have been shahrukh, but its acceptable when it comes to impact..salman in dabanngg was highly influential than shahrukh in khan..obviously the nation went crazy for story less dabangg over khan.. also rakhtcharitra was placed in many nominations though it missed out an award..
with many of big films failing and small films getting more popular, the audiences shall realise the nice films they missed out at the theatres..
c'mon people, lets support such great move recognising real talent..who knows soon we shall produce better films than foreigners...
have fun at the movies...:-)

Recommendations...my fav films of 2010..

though i missed out some expected great films such as 127 hours, amongst the ones i did watch...these are my recommendations..

UDAAN
director--Vikram aditya motwani (DEBUE)
simple yet disturbing story of  adoloscensce entangled between desires of young rohan and his grim father..his wish to escape the frightening  cane  and become a writer..UDAN comes as celeberation   for the excellence of film making soaked with melodrama and fun....anuraag kashyap (producer) once said" 90 percnt of indian film industry doesnt know how good films are alike..
you know what? aishwerya rai bachan refused to walk on red carpet at cannes to promote india's entry udaan..      kashyap  justified..:P

INCEPTION..
director--christopher nolan
another christopher nolan crime classic..people their in hollywood are blessed with vision and the capability to convert that vision into reality..
unpredictable, complicated yet engaging film..i wonder if films like inception would ever be made in india..the film has a scene where the city of paris folds itself to half...watching such extravagent happenings on screen are rare and not to be missed... http://akshay-s-page.blogspot.com/2010/07/most-thrilling-experience-i-have-had.html

 THE SOCIAL NETWORK
director--david fincher
you know what a fantastic film is like? its like one where the protagnist gets himself a visiting card that says 'AM THE CEO...BITCH.." a film that tells the story of the youngest billionaire so brilliantly.....mark zuckerberg( founder facebook).
and the film is..'THE SOCIAL NETWORK"....jessie esenberg could be an easy bet for the best actor at the academy ceremony in 2011

RAKHTCHARITRA
director--ram gopal verma
for me it was the most surprising film of 2010..i didnt expect anythng frm rgv and almost nothing from vivek oberoi.i accidently went on for it since i wasnt doing anythng at home..
its gory, yes, high on drama yes.but the climax scene of rakhtcharitra is one of the best scenes i hve ever enjoyed..vivek oberoi puffing a  ciggi says..."ye meri request nahi, order hai.."
and if you liked abhimanyu singh ( rann sa) from gulaal, then this time he is even more stunning with his fericious act of bukka reddy...rgv succeeds, and vivek oberoi has to be the best male performer along with shahrukh ( MNIK),ronit roy(udaan),abhimanyu singh from the same film..

MY NAME IS KHAN
director--karan johar
the only hyped film of 2010 that i liked...have a full blog on it..
http://akshay-s-page.blogspot.com/2010/02/my-name-is-khansome-films-dont-compell.html

PEEPLI LIVE
director--anusha rizvi..(DEBUE)
a story of a poor farmer trapped in the media circus when he decides to commit suicide..potentially a poignant tale on the odious face of farmer suicides in the country and the corrupt administration..an enjoyable black comedy with an amazing indian ocean music..

love sex aur dhokha.
director--dibakar banergee
don't be ignorant following its title...it isnt intented towards vulgularity or anyway unetthical..this film is surely a poignant attempt on the society via 3 stories of love sex and dhokha..each one told stunningly through the use of hidden cameras..and IF this isnt enough, let me tell you some other films by the same director include khosla ka ghosla and oye lucky lucky oye..do give it a watch..

some others worth mentioning films include.
ishqiya(DEBUE)
once upon a time in mumbai
due date
black swan
do dooni chaar(DEBUE)
phas gye re obama
am not an expert, i don't know the technical basics of film making..but i surely know what kind of a film excites me and arrests me to the happenings on screen...undoubtdly, these were the best films of 2010.. this is what entertainment for me..is.:-):-) what is it for you?

Street DeLiGhTs!

I was  told a guy here at the ram leela maidaan in derabassi  sells delicious dosa on a rehri and i must try it.. south indian has always been boring and complex form of of food..i simply hate use of folks and knives.
But,street food has always been an attraction, partially because its cheap, and partially because the delightful additives  that we pretend avoid at our places…but guess the best part !  I need not be careful of the surroundings,I can discount all the sophistication and let the glutton inside go insane…So what! everybody does..As soon i entered the crowded open ground bhind the dera bassi bus stand, to my amaze there were so many rehris offering different cuisines of food...south indian, chinese, punjabi, veg non veg, juices of all kinds , and many more.......
We stopped at the dinesh famus dosa...a south indian guy who was so well coordinated with his actions stood on the other side..he could prepare 7 dosas in a few seconds...and he succesfully gathered the max crowd at his stall...i ordered a dosa that cost a 20 rs, and withinn minutes my order was placed..  i took the first bite  and that very moment i  decided  this was the best dosa i hve ever had...Of all the sagar n ratnaa, sundarams, ratnams and some other popular south eating dens in the city..i hve been to everywhere..but this was surely the best..
i couldnt help myself visiting sme other rehris near by...n that too were  enjying some descent bussiness..i tried veg  momos...( once again the est i ever had) a kathi kabab, cheese chilly and then a glass of fruit juice..
Believe me, by default the ambience was so full of  energy as many college students stopped at that very time in the ground..the ram leela maidaan was so overflowing with people  as if each one of them  didn’t hve food in yrs…
And yes, the fancy names do add to their charm..dinesh paapular dosa, bombay chat wala, chinese fastest food apna burger...etc etc..
it’s the most unhygienic delight..order , enjoy and burp!!!
Baaki dekhi jaegi…
it happens only in india… :-):-):-)

A prayer that matters..sartaj's way..

I had not felt this much enlightened ever before, and i had never thought a prayer would do this for me, never..Prayer had always been boring and never ending yawning actvity for me..yes, a statement like this coming from a brahmin boy is shocking, atleast my friends say so..where all my mates were capable of chanting some of our major prayers i could hardly remember names...:P:P.the story is all different now.
Allow me to share an amazing experience ...Satinder sartaj is the artist and the track is 'SAI'..one of initial lines in the song says...rooh da asal malik ohs nu hi manniye, jidda naam layie taan saroor hove"
"i shall surrender my soul to a name,I get rejuvenated everytime I chant..”
..i had once learned from guruji "it doesnt matter whom you pray, what matters is the fact that a prayer is happening around", and now weeks after when my mind is overflowing with lyrics of this song..i realise what positivity a prayer generates, only if done honestly..i have never cared to whom,at what particular festive am suppose to pray..i did whatever other housemates asked me too..
i have never worshipped or claimed to follow a distinct soul..neither am doing now..i don't know what SAI actually preached..i know nothing about his teachings.. Except the fact a daily soap is being aired on him..
The point is,what all it takes to pray..we close our eyes, bow ourselves, fold our hands and we start reciting our worries that have trapped our mind..this is the most practiced form of prayer. ..but it is not necessary..A prayer mirrors self realization..That is what I have learnt..It should provide joy and peace..And that’s what every string of this song does..Moreover am surprised to see how much devotion it requires to celeberate somebody elses life.
it might be trendy for some to project themselves as atheist, but then they are deprived of such joyous experiences..
And Satinder sartaj, this guy is a genius. Not even 30, and he has redifined the ethics of sufi music..The track is already a rage in punjab..and if you havent listened it yet,you may download it for free from anywhere..but believe me,satinder sartaaj doesnt deserves this..We spend so much amount on useless assets everyday..Investing 150 bucks on an original cd wont be wasted, ofcourse not because other tracks in the album are equally engaging..
if that era belonged to nusrat fateh ali khan, this one belongs to satinder sartaaj..undoubtdly..

Sudarshan KRiya!!!

Alarmed!! Half an hour to go 7am..i swing  out of my heavenly bed  ( something I never do on a Sunday) and  prepare to leave for the mahakriya…now I’ll explain the term later…last day of oct and the beginning of my  fav period of the year..the winters…I kickstart my bike and follow the way to kalagram, the venue..
Winters  are slipping in  slowly.. The season  that makes my bed heaven..if really, then what had lured me  this morning  to escape the divine experience of sleep?
flashback!!!!  16th sept… memorable for sure..The day I learned to practise sudarshan kriya..Before I let you know about what sudarshan kriya is,I must mention that I  had joined the yes plus course( art of living) by then..
Sudarshan kriya as we were taught in the workshop is a meditation activity  supported with some  breathing exercises…Meditation  the word I had  been always fascinated about even though I didn’t know what actually it was.. and a sole reason to join art of living…
We were made to sit in a posture known as the  sukhasan..randmly  I just saw the time which was 7.15 pm.
The entire hall of 200 fresh candidates chanted om in chorus…
After a few breathing exercises for  some minutes, we were asked to relax our body and mind, even lay down if we wished to..i prefer laying down always..:):)
Now I was wondering in my thoughts what kind of a stupid activity it was, nowhere around meditation…I had read, and seen on tv  that in meditation we were suppose to concernterate, not let thoughts come in our  mind, and feel isolated .Evrything was going opposite to the concept of meditation I knew…I with my eyes closed was aware of everything around..I was in my complete senses and the term sudarshan kriya seemed crap and waste to me..i just started planning to get my fees refund and quit the course…I was sure that the entire activity was no more than 40 min longer..
We got up in our normal sitting postures opened our eyes and all at sudden I could feel the irritation of the tube light in front high my head into my eyes, as if I had slept for hours..i felt lighter, relaxed, and fresh..
But still the  activity didn’t convince me that I had learned meditation….Following, few candidates stood up and shared their experiences as how they felt..Some confessed they felt like flying up, some couldn’t help the natural smile on their faces, some expressed they had escaped all their worries and were enlightened to positivity…and I in my mind I thought!!(( kanjar saale nautanki) because I didn’t feel anyway around to what the  entire hall was celeberating…
But yes something did happen to me as well..but what? I wasn’t able to figure as to what those 40 min had done to me..The session was declared over for the day..i expected it to continue for more..i looked at my watch and to my greatest amaze…it was over 9.15 pm…
Ghosh!! How it could be…the entire acitivity to which I thought took 40 min actually happened for more than 2 hrs…I kept wondering and recalling to what I was thinking during the kriya but I could hardly remember..these were the few thoughts that I remember…this arose my eagerness to continue with the course and practice this kriya regularily..
Hve been doing it daily since then and have realized what importance and power it holds….without diving in too many theories of wether it should be done or not, I just do it because I want to.. it provides me with  divinity and joy that hardly any other activity does. .i somehow eased from all  worries that had trapped my mind..bliss is the feel that every nerve in my body is enjoying..apart,the kriya has helped me fight the odious tremblence in my hands...and yes, though late, but the subsequent effects all candidates shared the very first day, to which i couldnt relate have actually happened to me.  .i have always tried to be humorous and easy going even before i learned kriya, and now this spiritual activity is helping me to sustain  with the same and gain focus..
Have reached kalagram…I take my mat and run towards the open air theatre where a huge gathering in hundreds was about to start the divine experience of sudarshan kriya..kriya being performed in such a huge count generates more  positive vibes and is thus termed as the mahakriya..
its peace...
jai guru dev.!!

Axe me down...

Don't know how i have started trusting this page more than anything and anybody on this planet..i feel it allows me to express whatever i want and  for how so ever long.. it wont question back or argue..This time am not here to criticise( something am practising to quit), neither am going to discuss the steaming current affair the country is mad about, not a holiday diary..its only about what has gone wrong with me..
what are the  most common reasons  for frustration to take over  our mind? When we fail to follow the schedule we planned,,a mere fight with our friends that requires us to convince them back whole day, lazyness that is not letting us do something,etc..wonder  my mental state is being conquered from all sides at once..
After so many years I have structured a busy routine..i wake up, attend college, attend a course, then another..i come back  do a little follow up stuff and finally collapse to sleep to continue the loop..Am all alert  and excited to whatever shall happen to me in upcoming months..and one day a stampede of negativity  traps my mind that all this shall end  up into nothing and I would be a fool wondering what went wrong..hughh!! I feel doing nothing and immerse myself into a deep thought procedure..somehow the loop  alarms me  that deals like these are not tough for me..i’ll sail and achieve..but what should I do to the insomniac nights?
Another problem with me lies in my habbit of making fun or insulting( as they say).i invest my energy all day making others laugh..they do..they enjoy and all at sudden they end up yelling at me that I shouldn’t have said this or that... how is it when your own loved ones dont want to listen anymore, when asking for apology and waiting for things to bounce back normal is the only choice..waiting!! something i have always hated the most..it feels embarrasing..:(
[ my mobile apologised to 7 different people last night..)
my idea of making fun, cracking PJ'S 24*7,laughing unecessarily doesnt mean i hve nothing more purposeful to do..yes! thats what mates around end up concluding.."ye pagal h,, akal kahan h isse,,,ye kya smjhega kisi ko!! ghosh!!
Its only I have priortised my life towards fun and laughter..it makes me go easy, something I wish for everybody around..
This post may appear tainted to some, but this is something bothering me a lot..sometimes I wish I had gun  to blow everybody responsible..or better  would be to axe myself down..

64th independence....

The kid in this picture has no reason to celeberate freedom because he can’t afford to do even that..but we can..Every 15th aug we  like to remember great martyrs such as bhagat singh  because we have seen so many films on him n his bold thoughts and prospects have risen him to popularity amongst indian youth…
we like to carve  a bhagat singh in each one of us..we  like to be known as his follower..he did poetry so do i, .he had great principles and I feel mines are even bigger and greater..but he had the courage to give his thoughts reality and i cant even dream of achieving  it and that is why he was bhagat singh and am not..
i show my  concern towards the disturbing figures of our population, poverty line, unemployement etc.Discussing and cursing the corrupt administration of our country  is as common as watching another film every day..not a good sign either..
Every census will produce more disturbing figures, news focusing to external threat  will continue and to bring a REVOLUTION ( as most of our films say) is hard because the word is heroic in itself to use but difficult to implement..
What I  can do is I  can realize the love for my country..it is one principle that is convenient to adapt..atleast I  can avoid saying I hate this country…my expression of love for india should not be limited to just liking I LOVE INDIA  on facebook or just whistling at the inspiring lecture from A WEDNESDAY..
Let us hope our film makers  will know some day that our LEH,  NORTH EAST,the southern beaches, our deserts are potentially beautiful  and leave no reason to make useless love stories abroad..
An intelligence study reported that the money generated from piracy of films and games is being used to aid  terrorist groups worldwide…is the verdict enough for us to stop doing that..? no its not..because doing so demands us to compromise our luxuries that we are inhabited off..if we could ,then we have  all the authority to curse our system, show concern for the sad picture above and express  our valuable suggestions..
Think over it.. thinking is another easy job and we have the freedom to do that…
heartiest felicitaion on 64th independence..!!!!!

am 21.

I live in sector no 21,the first time I ever failed an exam I scored a 21,my bike no plate has a 21,my favorite English song titles ’21 guns’. Most importantly a highlighted clause in my KUNDALI says I’ll get married when I am 21. Significant concern because I’ll be turning 21 this July..   Along with such crazy logics and many others, being 21 means a lot. Am legally declared as adult and awarded with the legal rights of taking decisions myself.
I remember all 25th july’s since I was 6.From 6 to 12, from 12 to 21 I have come a long way..Recalling all gifts since then..Once I was gifted a huge pack of Parle g biscuits by a friend..My love for these biscuits begun when SHAKTIMAAN started endorsing them. Amongst others included some pieces of sea shells brought by another friend from the Andaman some 11 years back..I still have them. But you know what present has excited me the most? Its cash or say “shagun”.
The birthday venues have promoted from school booth canteens to some of town’s best eating places..Have not been able to party with college friends because it falls in summer holidays and I don’t believe in partying 10 days before or after. All the cake cutting ceremonies that once used to be the most thrilling part  hardly bring  any joy  now when am  21. joys that birthdays bring for others happen to me everyday..
My new year begins on 25/07 and this is the day when I take resolutions too..  once I took pledge to work upon my fitness with the next 25th July as the deadline to analyze results..this has been the most disastrous resolution I ever took as it was discarded the next week...last year I pledged to score both my semesters ALL CLEAR that had not happened before in my engineering,, partially successful  coz another result is being awaited.. I also once wanted to watch as many good films as I could..Since then I have been watching films almost every day irrespective of whether its summer holidays or autumn season that brings final exams.
At 21, I feel So far in these years I have seen a lot, changed a lot, the dreams have matured from a new bicycle to a successful termination to my graduation with some descent work beyond..yes, that’s what I pledge this 25th..i wish fun around sustains, I continue the good job of watching more and more films (and make others too).a lot  to achieve, a lot more to dream I wish to make 2010_2011 the most memorable year..(Delete a 0 and 1 from both and they become 21.)
Few minutes from now, the world will start partying the 21’st anniversary of a genius..CHEERS!!

the most thrilling experience i have had this year.

Am not rating it ,am not reviewing it because am not capable of  it. ..am just sharing what an amazing experience i had watching this great film.
i had heard a lot about the film, the ones who have seen it,  have planned to give it a re watch merely because they have liked it that much or they didn't understand it the first time..after struggling all three days of the weekend i finally managed a ticket for a monday noon..as i expected the hall had a descent strength..all these contributed to lift my excitment even more..
The moment lights went off,the opening scene had an unconscious di caperio,2 kids playing around followed instantly by a scene where a group attempts to steal an idea by designing a dream in another indivisual's mind..the transformation of the events in a dream and their respective effects in reality is a treat to watch..
There is a scene when the city of paris folds itself to half..and to name it wsn't just enough..a dream within a dream within a dream within reality, the logic that says 5 minutes of unconscious state in reality can be visualised of days n even years in that respective dream and the way it is being implemented,.the scene where the lead must complete their job of performing inception before a van hits water splash, supported by haunting backround music..many other nail bitting sequences made me realize at that moment that am watching one of the most stunning films ever made.
The film is so engaging that i never did  once give a look to my cell fone..i actually didn't want myself to be disturbed or say distracted (as the leads say) for even a moment off the screen..di caoerio's parallel story of his repetative encounters with his kids and dead wife in his dreams, his desperation to go back to his regular life..hard to accept but this parallel story somehow did manage to create emotional bond with the viewers... i know a super natural or a sci fi crime thriller is not supposed to deviate, but the thing is you really can't help sympathising with di caperio's love for his family.
i have heard people saying its too complicated, difficult etc.i don't think it was..it was an intelligent film but can be easily grasped if you allow urself to think in a plain manner.. if you try to make further predictions u'll definitely confuse urself. allow ur mind to escape the cheezy bgrade hollywood suspense drama memories then this film is really not an issue to understand.thrilling yes, heisty yes, but along its also an challenge for the viewers to solve various puzzles along with.
i havn't had such a splendid experience ever before. sitting their and getting arrested  to the happenings on screen is an oppurtunity that comes in years..
this is surely one film that has made me forget the avatar.
i don't know wether u agree or not,u hve seen it or not,but this is surely a film  i have enjoyed the most in my life.
director christopher nolan ( the dark knight, momento, insomnia, prestige) is a real genius...

encounters with hyderabad. -----part 2.. agra sweets and the autorickshaw..

My experience  with eating joints offering northern cuisine hasn’t been worth mentioning..But agra sweets is different. . I order a sandwich and 2 balls of gulab jamun..balls? yes thats what they look, like a ping pong table ball..15 rs each for a ball..( sare aam loot maar!!)but the city is having a nice time with the rains and so am i, not at all in a mood to crib .I can see through the glass a huge poster of the latest telugu release..Telugu cinema is not to be under rated. The state of Andhra Pradesh has 3300 cinema halls!! The film posters on the road dividing are more than the no of street lights..

The roads are owned by the auto rickshaws..You come to hyderabaad and an auto ride through the city is more thrilling than any xbox or ps chase game.they are fearless, can challenge a SUV and even claim to beat it dnt knw how..They can race in wrong side of road, abuse traffic policemen but will dare to reach your destination any way.

Coming out of Golconda fort i hired an auto..

Auto.. to sahib kitna Hyderabad dekhe aap??

Me..zyada nahi..abi ye mera teesra din h..

Auto..sahib aye ho to charminar zarur jana, salarjung museum bhi jana,
Birla mandir raat ko bahut sundar dikhta h..

Ye dekhiye sahib is gali me hindi ghajini ka climax shoot hua h..

Me..yr ek baat btao m ghanta dekhu Hyderabad?? 300 rs pe Golconda me guide ne le liye,150 ka auto kar ke aya tha,abi tumhe 120 dene hai..ek ghante ka Golconda 700 ka pad gya..
Sare Hyderabad me loot macha rakhi h..hhuuhh!!

Auto..are ye to tourist logo ka rona rehta h..isme aapka galti nai h..ye sab harami hote h..lekin mai theek rate bola aap ko..naraaz mat hona m aapko banjara hills se le kar jaunga..shayad aapko acha lag jaye.

(banjara hills is a posh area in Hyderabad and house to azzharuddin, sania mirza, vvs laxman and many filmstars, politicians,)

Me..(xcited.).chal theek h..mje sath sath bta te rehna.

Ye dekhiye Mahesh babu ka gar..kya zabardast ghar h sahib dekho..

Me..(mahesh babu??!!!! Name sounds of a 70 yr old politician who has build villas, guest houses, with money produced out of fraud..
Later to my surprise i realised Mahesh babu is a telugu superstar and husband to former bollywood actress namrata shirodkar..he is 35 and the sexiest celeb in south india.)

After a few minutes ride he introduced me to bunglows, five stars and also Apollo..one of the largesr hospitals in asia

Me..acha!! aap hindi filme dekhte h??

Auto..bilkul sahib..mane kal hi sharu kaan ka latest picture dekha..OM SHANTI OM..

ME..kya?? use gaye to teen saal ho gye..

Auto..ummm..fir to pta nai.. ye dekho pokhiri ka poster..

(pokhiri starring Mahesh babu is the biggest telugu hit and was remade as wanted in hindi..)

Me..hyderabad ka total population kitna hoga??

Auto.. hoga koi 1 crore..bahut janta ati h yahan door door se..
to kaise lag rahe Hyderabad?

Me..badia hai lekin ek baat btao ye traffic aisa kyu h..koi b red light me bhaga raha h,traffic police kuch kr ni rahi..

Auto..(smiling) mere pass license ni h..6 saal se chala raha hun aur gadi ka koi kaagaz b ni bana hua.

Me..isme khushi ki kya baat h?? Ye to galat h..

Auto wala..aap to gar se soch k aye ho ki Hyderabad k khilaaf sochna h..
Hyderabad bura nai h sahib. ye sab yahan choti baat islie h kyu ki Hyderabad bahut bura waqt dekh chukka he.ek time pe yahan hindu muslim me itna tension rehta tha...har roz koi na koi lafda.

Tourist log old Hyderabad me ane ko darte the.bahut se log charminar dekhe bina hi laut jaate the..
Yahan police wale ko 4000 do wo kisi ko b goli maar dega..aisa haal tha..mai khud apne time me bahut badnmaashi kiya hun..hume pta nai hota tha k kya masla (issue) he ,koi bada paalitician bolta tha to hum tod fod kr dete the,aag laga dete the.
Lekin ab aisa nai h sahib.ab hume samaj agya he ki ye bade paalitician harami hote he,ye bas apna faeda krna jaante he..mere jaisa bahut log h jo badal gye h..abhi bhi bahut badmaash bhare rehte h aold city me.lekin padaai likaai zaruri h..is se samajh a jati h k in sab lafdo ka koi faeda nahi.aj hamre yahan agar hindu muslim me koi lafda hota he to amne samne baith ke baat khatam ho jati h.
Dheere dheere sab teek ho jayega..abi ye saale telangana ka shor macha rahe h,magar dekh lena kuch ni hoga..shanti hi hogi..koi telangana velangana ni banega..
Wo dekho sahib building..110 maale ki ban rahi h(Singapore towers, underconstruction bulding.to be the highest in country after completion) ...5 saal baad dekhna Hyderabad dunia k ache shehro me ayega..

He dropped me and wished me luck ..sahib charminar weekend pe mat jana,,thoda tension rehta h..mon to thur kabhi bi chale jana..

I don’t know wether those bunglaws really belonged to the names he took...i don’t even know wether 120 is reasonable from Golconda fort to madhapur .but i could easily sympathize with his efforts to make me view Hyderabad according to him.
2001 census says Hyderabad is 40 lacs and growth upto 1 crore is hard to digest..i knew the figures but i could also see how desperate he wanted a stranger like me to understand the importance of his place.

DHARTI.. spare this from criticism...

A week   after   watching one of rarest regional films in the country that crushed the bussiness of its co-released hindi film ,   I read ma...
