My NaMe Is KhAn.....some films do compell...

Now here's the film i have been waiting for long...i strongly critized KARAN JOHAR for his previous strokes....that is,,for me K3G is still the worst peice of mainstream cinema we have.....but post MNIK i realized that some films do compell us to feel,, but along we ourselves start falling into...karan johar's MNIK is an applaud wrth attempt for sereous issues dealt beautifully... the scintillating efforts thrown in by the makers blow colours on screen..
As soon as the lights go off the opening shot itself speaks the desperation of our lead suffering from asperenges syndrome ,,,searching everythng he could to meet the president of the country and convince the world that its not bad to be a muslim..
Shahrukh's enact of an asperegence syndrome indivisual as Rizwaan appears authentically realistic n never does he loose his focus off it.Its all Rizwan's innocence that makes many moments in the film memorable.
The one where he hides his face and blushes away when mandira(kajol) asks to marry her..and...Mandira out of frustration states she 'll kill herself,,,,rizwan jumps in and makes repetive requests ''plz dont die plz''.. fortunately many others like these maintain the stolidity with the viewers..
There is a heartwarming scene where Rizwan offers a speech at a memorial service in a small village sharing the loss of his son and how he was regretful of not being a good father due to his disorder,, which follows a line''mujhe ankahi baatien mehsus krna nai ata...''probably serving the best scene in the film..
Dialouges succesfully make some important statements....”THIS PART OF THE WORLD LABEL DATES BY AD N BC...I SIMPLY MARK IT BY 9.11”... kajol as mandira is equally admirable for her determinition to go round d place and fight for justice followed by a communist attack on her son. On his journey to meet the president Rizwan bravely overcomes hurdles and there it is when shahrukh steals away the whole sympathy being shared by others characters earlier in the film.... For those interested in technical knowledge....Ravi k chandrans photography is eye watering and motion of camera does full justice to the theme of each scene ..
Equally scintillating is the art direction...the creation of an imaginary land of Greogia blown brutally by hurricane storms is stunning and goes well with d mood of destruction and pain all around...Apart from the leads, others such as Zahira wahib,Parveen dabas etc and all the foreign cast are in good form..a special mention for actor tanay playing young rizwaan is awesome with his expressions …
MNIK might not be a perfect film. Since the first half drags and also I felt odious to see actors like JIMMY SHERGILL,,VINAY PATHAK,being waisted as they rarely appear on screen…..bt still MNIK is worth a watch since it stands braverly to deliever the importance of devotion and basic goodness in our lives.......finally the film celeberates d victory of love n efforts.the film succesfully makes imp statements against the world's repulsive credensce for islam post 9\11...Half a dozen attempts r bieng made in india every year that raise similar issues,,sadly none soars....n dats what makes MNIK superior,,simply bcoz here no one is blowing stereotype dialouges at us..
In these times when indian viewers choice is struggling hard for genuine cinema,MNIK is not to be missed...am all set for the dvd release,, adding another one to my collection of favourite films…
